I took a chance and started a SubStack: Considered Clay

It’s where I explore art, motherhood, and my journey with cancer in words to fully process all I see and feel and have a deeper understanding of my art.

  • “Landis Carey is an outstanding artist who creates work captivating in its simplicity. My very first piece came to me as a gift years ago and continues to receive compliments from visitors in my home, but more importantly, I still love looking at it daily. At the crossroads of function and beauty, Landis’ work is both universal and unique. I love how she continues to innovate yet also remains authentic and grounded. The timeless qualities of a Landis Carey piece ensure her art has a special home in beloved spaces.”

  • “Landis Carey makes elevated, everyday pieces that feel as relevant today as they did ten years ago when I started collecting them. The organic textures, natural shapes, and perfectly balanced weight of each piece make even the simplest of meals feel special.”

  • “Back in 2012, I acquired a Landis Carey bowl as a gift for my parents. It is treasured by them and loved and enjoyed by all of us. Since it entered their home, every time I visit, my dad uses that bowl to serve his dinners for us. It is too big for just my mom and dad but has really become a symbol of our family dinners with our entire family. It doesn't matter if it is a simple pasta or a fancier dinner, it is there in the center of the table. Its organic form is delicate and beautiful yet durable and practical. Landis is a tremendous artist, anyone that owns a piece of her work is incredibly lucky.”

  • “Landis Carey creates absolutely gorgeous and timeless pottery. I have known Landis since 2010. As soon as I saw her pottery, I was blown away. I purchased some pottery for myself but also started buying assorted bowls from her to give to my clients as closing gifts when they purchased a home. Landis helped to co-brand the pottery pieces. My clients loved receiving a custom, handmade piece, and I loved that each one was forever branded with my name and logo. I would highly recommend Landis' work to anyone. Her pieces are simple and classic in their beauty. I would be honored to refer Landis’ work to my closest family and friends.”
