Color Study Collection 1 juxtaposes ceramic glazes to explore how lighter glazes pierce dense, darker glazes on a moody, lightless substrate. I experience color visions during meditation. They began years ago after I deepened my meditation practice. I get lost in my visions, and over time, I also began feeling the colors. After much journaling and further meditation, I now understand that while the colors I experience are important, it’s where and how the light prisms pierce these color veils that is critical. The light I experience is purity; the colors are universal emotions we collectively move through. This color study collection comprises six dark brown, handbuilt stoneware plates. It gathers data for future explorations of my color visions on clay surfaces.
